No matter how loud I scream, I feel like no one hears me.
People whom I thought I could trust are now no different than strangers I pass by on the street.
Everything I’ve been taught to believe in is a lie. Life is a black rose covered in thorns.
Even out of the small amount of people I hold dear to me that actually care, they don’t understand.
I truly appreciate their efforts to comfort me but they don’t really comprehend what it’s like to be Rafael.
They will never be able to fathom the monsters that I see when I close my eyes,
the nightmares that haunt when I go to sleep, and the harsh reality I’m forced to live in day by day.
Sometimes when I look in the mirror I can still see traces of that innocent boy before he was jaded.
Before the world stole his innocence and shattered his glass heart.
Before he realized how cold, lonely, and cruel this fucked up world really is.
They say awareness is the enemy of sanity, because once you hear the screaming…it never stops.
Everyday I’m reminded of what a pathetic society we’ve let ourselves be imprisoned by.
Our so called “morals”, “compassion” for others, and defintion of equality is nothing but a big fucking joke.
God must be looking down at us from Heaven and laughing his ass off.
We lost the ability to love and act like human beings a long time ago.
Children having children, senseless violence, rape, discrimination, poverty, racism, and opression is happening every minute, all around us, but no one cares.
Reposting some stupid chain letter on a social network to make yourself feel like a good person isn’t making a difference to those individuals who go through these things on a daily basis.
Books have been replaced with iPads and we’ve let the media set our standards of what’s acceptable or not.
We live in a time where people care more about celebrities whom they’ve never met before than their own friends and family.
Fuck the media, fuck the law, fuck the system, and fuck whoever disagrees.
Welcome to the United Snakes of America…where instead of freedom and liberty they give us free doom and insecurity.
